Tropical heat and eyelash extensions
It looks like we will be dealing with days above 30 degrees from next weekend.
What should you take into account and what can you pay attention to with eyelash extensions and tropical heat?
Make sure you have glue, eyelash lift and brow lamination products in stock and do not leave them at the postman in a warm car without air conditioning. Temperatures above 25 degrees can affect the quality of these products.
Know more about eyelash extensions you can read on our website. Or take a look at our shop.
Eyelash extensions and warm weather
An air conditioner is actually a must have for every eyelash stylist during hot days. My very best tip is therefore; purchase an air conditioner. Yes, it's true, air conditioning is not cheap. But if your customers come back because the eyelash extensions fall out, this will ultimately cost you more!
Also leave air conditioning on in the evening and night, so that the temperature remains constant. Don't have air conditioning? Then think carefully about where you put your products. For example, in an attic or in a converted garage with a flat roof, it becomes much warmer inside. Also don't leave your products in a cupboard in front of the window. In short; find the coolest place to store your products. Consider, for example, a glue container.
Working with glue for eyelash extensions in high humidity
No air conditioning at your disposal? We give you a number of tips when working with glue for eyelash extensions in high humidity and temperatures when you do not have air conditioning and/or dehumidifier. A high temperature and/or high humidity causes the glue to polymerize faster. This results in a weak connection and therefore poor retention. Sometimes you brush the extensions out straight away. Here are some tips on what you can do:
- Do not use products that make the glue harden faster, such as speed up solution, an alcohol-based primer or super bonder, because your glue will dry much faster.
- Use a glue that dries slower than the glue you normally use. Ultimately you will end up with the same drying speed.
- Use a little more glue than usual if you don't have a slower glue in stock.
